Hello, I'm Hamish

About me

I'm Hamish, I'm a amateur programmer and game developer from Australia. I first started learning python around early 2021, since then I have made a few minor games and branched out into other languages such as c# and javascript
I have competed in 5 game jams so far (pyweek 35, GMTK 2023, pyweek 36, pyweek 37, FishFest 2024). I usually use either Pygame, Godot or Raylib to create games. I would like to do more web design and app based projects with things such as react and flask. I also hope to expand my knowledge in data structures and algorithms

all the sprites in my games were drawn in photoshop. For sound I usually use music from incompetech which has a giant library of royalty free music. As for general SFX I usually use jsfxr or pixabay

Projects

The majority of my projects are games made with a varitety of different frameworks, most of which are playable on web. My first "framework" was p5js, which is a javascript library for creating visual art but I decided I wanted to make a (poorly built) platformer. I then moved onto pygame, then godot and most recently raylib, (Although dealing with emscriptens bs is a pain). I have a few more game ideas in mind for the future but I also want to do some more web dev stuff because I don't really have any major app projects, so I have been experimenting with flask and other stuff like that
